Meet Alison

My reasons for taking the plunge and returning to study Biochemistry and Naturopathic Nutrition at The College of Naturopathic Medicine in London came from years of struggling with my health which started in my teens. Like many teens I became unwell with Glandular Fever caused by the Epstein Barr virus at age 15, it was incredibly debilitating and left me feeling exhausted with low energy and immunity and struggling through my exams. In addition, my monthly cycles became a nightmare. I was suffering many hormonal symptoms for two weeks of every month which were affecting me socially, at work and in my relationships.

I have been on a journey of self-development for many years but have seen the biggest improvements in my health through living a Connected Health lifestyle, by that I mean a combination of personalised nutrition, regular physical activity, meditation and breathwork.

The importance of the mind - body connection and my appreciation for the science of nutrition, meditation and movement cannot be under estimated. As a strong believer in the power of physical movement I have had a lifelong love for many different forms of exercise including, yoga, strength training, running, mountain biking, hiit and walking.

But it was not always like that…

The lasting effects of the virus added to the young adult lifestyle I was living of partying, drinking lots of alcohol, not sleeping enough and eating junk inevitably led to long term hormone imbalances and left me feeling frequently tired and unwell.

I first became aware of the power of Nutrition through reading a Patrick Holford book while commuting to and from my job at an Investment bank in London – the book opened up a whole new world to me and I began changing my diet and lifestyle and working on my hormones through further self-learning. The body has an incredible means of self-healing, and with simple small changes I started to feel better.

I became fascinated with nutrition and self-improvement and decided my dream job would be to become a registered nutritionist and help others. After having my two lovely boys I eventually took the leap to enrol on the 3-year course in Biochemistry and Naturopathic Nutrition.

A few years later, I took my passion for exercise to the next level by becoming a qualified Personal Trainer.

It’s a true privileged to be able to do the work I am passionate about and help women to thrive through the challenges that midlife can bring. I love guiding women on their journey to connected health, aligning hormonal balance, with nutrition and exercise.

Alison finds blalance through exercise, and eating fresh natural foods.
